Mode (MODE) is a Layer 2 blockchain built on the OP Stack, designed to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) with decentralized finance (DeFi). The project introduces the concept of AI-powered finance (AiFi), where autonomous AI agents interact with smart contracts to optimize liquidity, execute trades, and conduct on-chain audits. Mode aims to scale DeFi to billions of users by providing a low-cost, high-efficiency infrastructure within the Optimism Superchain ecosystem.

Mode leverages Optimism’s Bedrock upgrade, which significantly reduces transaction fees—over 95% lower than Ethereum mainnet—making it an efficient environment for DeFi applications. It also supports AI-driven automation, allowing intelligent agents to manage financial operations autonomously, from market-making to lending strategies.

Mode provides a scalable, low-cost environment for AI-driven DeFi applications. The network is designed to support various use cases, including:

• DeFi Automation: AI agents can monitor liquidity pools, adjust positions based on market conditions, and execute trades across decentralized exchanges (DEXs).
