Brock Pierce Returns to Politics, May Run for US Senate
Pierce said that he is weighing a run for the seat of retiring Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont.

After a failed U.S. presidential bid, crypto entrepreneur Brock Pierce said that he is getting back into politics, and has filled a “statement of organization” with the U.S. Federal Election Commission.
- In an Instagram post, Pierce said that he is weighing running for the seat of retiring Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and that the filing allows him to start raising campaign money.
- The co-founder of blockchain software company Block. One announced a presidential bid in July last year as an independent, but missed filing deadlines in several states to place his name on the ballot. He was also served at a campaign rally in September 2020 with a lawsuit alleging securities fraud.
- Pierce has also co-founded other crypto projects including stablecoin tether (originally called Realcoin) and Blockchain Capital, a venture capital firm.
- As a child actor Pierce appeared in several Disney films including “The Mighty Ducks” and “First Kid.”
