Cogecoin (COGE) is a cryptocurrency dedicated to supporting animal welfare by integrating blockchain technology with donations, pet insurance, NFTs, and a pet-focused marketplace. Cogecoin (COGE) is an open-source, peer-to-peer cryptocurrency built on the Ethereum blockchain using the ERC-20 standard. Its primary mission is to support animal welfare initiatives globally by facilitating donations and improving the quality of life for underprivileged animals. Cogecoin (COGE) serves multiple purposes within its ecosystem:
- Donations – 20% of the total token supply is allocated to animal welfare organisations worldwide, ensuring transparent contributions through blockchain technology.
- Pet Insurance – Provides decentralised peer-to-peer (P2P) insurance solutions for pet owners. Users can pool funds and submit claims verified through smart contracts and community voting.
- Pet Commerce – Allows $COGE holders to purchase pet-related products, accessories, and food through the Cogecoin marketplace. Plans also include a fresh pet food delivery service.
- NFT Sponsorships – Users can sponsor abandoned pets by purchasing NFTs modelled after the animals they support, which can be used in metaverse applications and dApps.
- Metaverse and Gaming – Future developments include virtual environments where users can create and interact with digital pets, trade assets, and participate in virtual adoption.
- DeFi and Governance – Features such as staking, yield farming, and governance systems allow holders to influence the development and management of the platform.
Cogecoin was developed by COOGEE Limited, a company registered under the laws of the Republic of Seychelles. The team behind the project focuses on combining blockchain technology with charitable activities to drive positive social impact.
