Flux (FLUX) is a digital cryptocurrency token that operates on its own native blockchain. The Flux platform is a decentralized computational network that provides infrastructure services like hosting and storage. Flux utilizes a Proof-of-Useful-Work (PoUW) consensus mechanism, where FluxNodes contribute computational resources to power applications. The ecosystem consists of:
- FluxOS – A Linux-based operating system that manages application deployment and network operations.
- FluxNodes – A decentralized network of node operators providing computational power.
- Zelcore Wallet – A multi-asset cryptocurrency wallet designed for interacting with Flux services.
The FLUX token is used for:
- Transaction Fees: FLUX is used to pay for computational resources on FluxOS.
- Node Collateralization: Operators must stake FLUX to run FluxNodes and provide network security.
- Incentives: Miners and node operators are rewarded in FLUX for contributing resources.
- Governance: Token holders participate in governance decisions related to network upgrades and economic policies.
Flux was co-founded by Parker Honeyman, Tadeáš Kmenta, and Daniel Keller. The project originated from Zel, which later rebranded as Flux. The team focuses on decentralized infrastructure solutions for blockchain-based applications.
